Product Review: The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

If you're at all interested in the latest in skincare, you've probably heard about The Ordinary. This company offers a range of potent, but inexpensive, beauty products. Their tagline is one that resonates heavily with me: "Clinical formulations with integrity."

This is a team of specialists in biochemistry, and they actually care about what they're putting out there. 

I generally just use their Lactic Acid 5% + Ha 2% and 100% Plant Derived Squalene, but my sister is a devotee of their products. She's got an impressive little collection of The Ordinary bottles crowding her dresser, and one in particular has caught my attention. 

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution.

According to the site, this blood-red potion contains 30% hydroxy acids, 2% Beta Hydroxy acid, Vita B5, Hyaluronic acid, Black Carrot, and Tasmanian Pepperberry. Yeah, I know. Tasmanian Pepperberry sounds intense.

I used the peeling solution for the fourth time this morning. Every time I use it, I fall more in love with it.

I think this is a keeper, for sure.

I've had an acne scar on my cheek for months. Nothing I was doing was getting rid of it, and I was almost starting to get used to the sucker. But I think this peeling solution is getting rid of it! It's not nearly as noticeable. In fact, I think I'm the only one who knows it's there.

This stuff is kinda sticky, and it doesn't smell the greatest. When I first apply it, I experience a very short-lived stinging sensation, but nothing agonizing. It goes away within seconds.

After applying it (having carefully read the directions for use on the label) you wait no more than 10 minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water.

When I take it off, my skin feels smooth and silky.

Here's my pro and con list for the peeling solution:

I really can't think of another con, and the ones I did list are negligible. Seriously, check out The Ordinary's product page for the peeling solution and read the reviews. People love this stuff, and it appeals to people of all ages. There are people 60+ who love it, and there are teenagers leaving full-star reviews.

Based on my experience with it, I'd say it's perfect for people who want to treat scars, smooth skin, and brighten their complexion. While it's a bit early for me to make any kind of statement about its wrinkle-fighting abilities (and I don't really have wrinkles, anyway, thank the lord and please preserve this skin!), I bet this would be a secret weapon in anybody's skincare arsenal. The benefits strike me more as cumulative, and I am excited to see how this solution enhances my skin over time.

And, my God. Look at the price. It's totally worth it.
